Been thinking about an ultimate playlist...

Of my all time favorite tracks. What I once thought impossible I am beginning to think is very manageable. I haven't even begun to construct one, but it would have to include:

1. Some Things Last A Long Time -- Daniel Johnston
2. Car -- Built to Spill
3. Adam's Song -- blink-182
4. Holland, 1945 -- Neutral Milk Hotel
5. World on a String -- Neil Young
6. Across The Universe -- The Beatles

I kinda wanna give this some legit thought. Maybe soon.

Episode One - A Freshly Baked Nemesis

I was awake this morning at 4 a.m. No, that wasn't a typo. 4 a.m. A time I've dubbed "The Most Ungodly Time To Wake Up. And Go To Work." It truly is as bad as it sounds -- possibly a little worse. Too add insult to injury, it happened to be something like 4 degrees outside. With a wind chill of probably somewhere in the neighborhood or -15. Awesome. So needless to say, while you were snug and warm in your bed at 4:30 this morning, I was drudging through ice and snow to the Blue Line, cursing your name and wishing you were dead. I eventually got over it. But still. I was pissed.

Kanye West was robbed. Again. The rap categories are an absolute given -- when will the man finally get his due cred? Herbie Hancock hasn't been relevant in decades. This is almost worse than losing to U2.

Snagged a gig. Results when they come.

Peace, love and pizza.

Chyeaah

Snagged my first gig in Chi-Town -- an open mic night somewhere downtown, on Thursday. Should be cool. Also, I'm watching the Grammy's tonight. If Kanye West doesn't win every single award (including the ones he isn't even nominated for), then I'll probably punch a wall or something. In an industry shrouded by artificial talent and deep pockets, he's a man who truly stands above the rest as a true artist.

Aside from all that good stuff, I've got nothing going on. Writing...playing video games (F.E.A.R. is fucking scary and I can only play 20 minutes at a time)...and waking up early to go to work.

Which reminds me. I'll be up at four am tomorrow to get ready for work. I fell asleep at three last night. Something about that doesn't even out. The moral of the story: count yourself blessed if you get a decent night sleep, for I'll be at the Pot Belly's on Dearborn, hanging out with Juan and listening to some soft rock as we diligently work and feed the Pot Belly machine. Es bueno times.

Bye bye

Some things to consider:

1. Dogs are not smart. They posses no intelligence or personality of any kind. Evidence of this can be attributed too the following, and ONLY, canine emotions: Hungry and Stupid. A dog is not "Man's Best Friend" -- mine sure as hell isn't. Because MY best friend doesn't bark for forty five minutes every time the doorbell rings or stick his nose in the crotch of EVERY girl I bring home. I refuse to be Rover's sloppy seconds, and so should you.

2. Every time I watch poker on ESPN, I wonder: "Are these people ugly by coincidence or is that just their poker face?"

3. After the Giants won the Super Bowl, I pictured Ashton Kutcher running out onto the podium with a camera and yelling "You just got punk'd!" and taking the trophy away from Eli Manning and giving it Tom Brady. Then Eli cries. I laughed.

4. Photobucket
(Think about it)

5. Point number 3 really wasn't that funny. I promise to do better next time.
